definitely. if they had not fallen how they did, maybe they would have learned to avoid satan's tricks eventually. who knows. good question.

I think that it simply would have been escalated to a different type of temptation.

Ironically, I asked a related question a few days ago. In that question, I asked for the responders to put themselves into Eve's situation. Could they have avoided eating the fruit. Admittedly, most of them stated that they would have eaten the fruit.

I think either snakes or dragons (some kind of snake-like reptile) are involved in each creation story. Therefore, it kinda had to be a snake.

20/20 hindsight. Alas, she did not.

Scripture seems to allude to the fact that Adam willingly joined her in her sinful condition out of love. She had already fallen. If he had killed the serpent, he still would have eaten of the fruit anyway.

I'm new to this and don't know the timeline...Was satan even around at that time, or was he still the angel that had not fallen yet? Otherwise who says the serpent wasn't the devil already?

Satan wanted what does not belong to him, that is the worship that is directed to Jehovah God.
If it had not been the snake (serpent) then he would have used another creature to do his bidding.

Actually the snake was supposed to represent temptation.

You shouldn't take The Bible literally.
