Hell is the place you're sent to whenever you don't agree with a particular belief system. In other words, it's a made up place that religious leaders use to scare people into joining their folds.

The complete absence of hope. The feeling that death is the only way to end the suffering you are feeling. Even if there is punishment from a creator for taking your own life; feeling as though it can't be worse than what is happening to you at this moment (at the time I was a Christian). As a suicide survivor it is a place I have visited and will NEVER return to if it is within my power. Hell (the concept) is a state of mind but it is real.

Just what the bible says it is. If heaven is more magnificent than ear has heard or eye has seen.
How much more horrible is hell ?
It's plainly detailed in the bible. By the way,it's FOREVER. Here on earth you have the chance to rest, eat & sleep. In hell there will be no rest night or day. The bible speaks of The rich man & Lazurus. The rich man knew who he was, where he was & how he was. He could see Lazurus in paradise from across the great chasm. He begged for a drop of water to cool his parched tougne.I don't want to be there. But it's your choice. Jesus saves.

Hell is the place where sinners whose sins have not been forgiven will go at the time of judgement to be punish to the lake of fire and be burn and turn to ashes and dust which will serve as food of the snake who enticed Eve in eating the tree of knowledge. There is no eternal life in Hell.

And because judgement has not yet come, there is no hell at present time until the said judgement.

Since Jesus was in hell (Acts 2:31) then it's not the burning place of torment for sinners that christendom would have us beleive. Hell is the common grave of mankind in which we are unconscious (Ecclesiastes 9:5).

Hell is a place where the unrepetent go.
The answer is to repent. No matter what you've done, repent. Did you know Son of Sam is now a Born Again Christian?

It is a place where you are absent from any kind of help and no way out. The Bible describes it as a lake of fire, but Dante's Inferno had several interesting layers.
