Okay, you need to put a collar on it that has a little bell on it so you know when its going to jump on you.
Most kittens go through that wild attacking stage so you need to get it toys to play with so it doesn't get bored and attack you or your personal things. Don't be afraid to give it a little whack every now and than that will get the point across too.

We have a 3 month old kitten who runs around like a maniac, attacking everything in sight (including the 55 lb. dog). It's what kittens do.
Get a variety of kitty toys, and redirect your kitten to a toy when he goes into 'attack' mode. Some of our kitten's favorite toys: Cat Aerobics (a wire with a dangle-y thing on one end and a handle for the human on the other end), small wadded-up paper balls (we toss them across the room and he brings them back), the plastic strips that are found around the lids on pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, paper grocery bags, the laundry basket.
Purring a lot is pretty normal for kittens.
He should go to the vet for a check up, and to get started on his shots. Ask him/her about the kitten's heartbeat, and anything else you are concerned about.
Good luck!

attacking or playing ? is it moving things he attacks ? Kittens are very playful and full of energy you could try playing with kitty with the wand toys to wear him out to get rid of excess energy . As for the heart beat what do you mean by weird , cats hearts beat fast and if he is playing and chasing it will be faster. When is kitty purring when he is around you or in your lap ? If so then he is probably content .

Your cat is probably feral, which means he is essentially wild and isn't used to people. His heartbeat is going to be very fast, but if it is irregular, he needs to go to the vet. Purring usually means he's enjoying himself, but can also mean he is in pain. His wild behavior might be caused by an illness or some sort of internal disorder. Take him to the vet ASAP and have him thoroughly checked over. And don't forget neutering -- that will help him calm down.
Assuming he is healthy, he needs to get used to being with you. Don't punish him for attacking you -- it's his way of playing and socializing with you. He's a kitten and naturally rowdy. Kittens are naturally "trained" by their mothers to play more carefully, but you can't do what a momcat does. Pet and stroke him very gently, and remember, he may feel like your attempts to love him are attacks. He may feel threatened by you. When he goes for you, withdraw from him. That tells him you won't interact with him if he is being aggressive. If he continues to be aggressive, you might consider having a water bottle at hand and giving him a judicious squirt when he gets too crazy. Lots of time, patience, and TLC will bring him around. The key here is to be very gentle, very calm, and very, very patient.
Edit: Ignore that other post. No collars with bells, and no whacking. Cats often strangle themselves with collars, and the constant tinkling of the bell makes them crazier. (I had one cat who got her jaw caught in her collar. We took it off of her and never ever put another collar on a cat after that.) And NEVER hit a cat -- they just take it as an attack. The first poster is correct -- it's likely your cat is just going through that "crazy kitty" stage. But have him checked out by the vet.

Oh yes....that is all a part of having a 3-mo. old kitten. They always seem like they are in "hyper" mode and will attack everything in sight. Because they are feline, they have a natural instict to learn "attacking" behaviour. He sounds just fine. He is bonding with you right now, you'll just have to be patient until he starts to mellow out a little--probably in a couple of weeks. Good luck!

Hi take him to the vets for a check up,he may have been badly treated by his previous owners.Get some toys for him to play with and give him a few treats everyday to gain his trust and he should then bond with you.
