Do not give your cat garlic or onion in any form. It is toxic to cats and will at the least make them sick. Sometimes it kills. Get Frontline for fleas.
Even better website. It lists ALL the things your kitty shouldn't eat.

It is a myth that garlic is good for cats. I found this:

"I came across your site while researching the affect of Garlic on cats and dogs. On your hints and tips for cat lovers, a garlic capsule is recommended for cats. Garlic is highly toxic to cats and should never be given internally. It causes hemolytic anemia and damages the red blood cells which can lead to death. Any vet will be able to confirm this. Unfortunately not many people are aware of the toxicity. Garlic is also toxic, although less so for dogs."

Also: "Onions contain a substance (N-propyl disulphide) which destroys red blood cells in the cat, causing a form of anemia called Heinz body anemia. Garlic contains a similar substance in a lesser amount."

Hi, I was going to try this but then I read in a book from the library that it is dangerous for cats. Too kill fleas use something that is recommended by vets e.g Fronline is one of the best, since using this on my kitten for 4 months he has not had one flea on him.

no amount of garlic or onions is safe or good for a cat...feed them little anchovies if you must step from the norm of treating a cat, and don't feed many anchovies, a half pound bag of dried anchovies will last my cat about a year. i don't give many nor often. but NO garlic.
mint on the otherhand grows in our garden and she's been known to get into that a bit
