This is my secret. I have stick straight hair too!

so, i have a nice straightener. It's a thin one.

Put a chunk of hair in the straightener. twist the straightener so your hair is sticking upand then pull down. i get perfect curls everytime. finish off with hairspray and you have gorgeous curls. it makes no sense, but its so much easier than coating your hair in hairspray and spending two hours with a curling iron. try it out. :]

My hair is curly underneath and straight near the top and the straight part doesn't hold a curl either so its weird its all curly under and the top wont get curly. I tried Herbal essences mousse called Set Me Up, it's the blue one and it holds hair really well! I scrunch my hair with it and then tousle it a bit and put the Set Me Up spray all through out it, lifting my hair layer by layer to get everywhere. This will probably also work with any other mousse, but the other ones I've used like Garnier Fructis, and my friend used Pantene Pro-V, do not hold very long. I only use Herbal Essences Set Me Up or Totally Twisted. You can also braid it at night while its wet and sleep on it but it has to be loose braids and if you braid it weirdly or sloppily itll look weird in the morning. Hope i helped =]

Before you roll it or use an iron, make sure the hair is almost dry then spray the hair with extra hold hairspray before rolling. The curls will stay and it won't take long to dry.

get a good curler, like the Corlioliss (http://www.corioliss.com/ )! before you attempt to curl your hair, wash you hair with a shampoo & conditionair set that is made for curly hair. then spray a section of your hair that you are going to curl with some hairspray, then curl you hair & immediatly after, spray your hair with hairspray!

hope i helped a bit!

dampen hair before bed, maybe a little mousse too and then put your hair in pin curls and sleep on them, it works
