I was invited to it but im only 17 and my date isn't sure if i have to be 18.

I wouldn't think 17 would be a big deal if he is no more than 19. I went to one last Nov. Most people were busy with their own friends, drinking, being in the ceremony, etc.. They wouldn't be too concerned with your age. Just act respectfully and of course don't try and drink.

There shouldn't be a problem. The Marines have to take in the fact that many of their newest recruits are just out of hight school, so they might have younger Girl friends.

I went to one when I was 17 (my boyfriend at the time was 19), and it wasn't a problem. No one asked my age.

I have seen people bring thier kids to balls before.

It may raise eyebrows, expecially if he is older then 18 or 19.
