The whole "if you don't believe some silly thing about the afterlife you deserve to be tortured for all eternity" is at the root of it. This belief was incorporated into Christian dogma to solidify the power of the church. If only good works were neccesary for salvation, Christians would have nothing over any other religion. You take away this pivotal belief and the whole cookie crumbles.
Atheists are a threat to the traditional power structure. So are the other religions.
Christians literally see life as a giant chess match between God and Satan before the end of days. They can't see the inherent contradictions of their religion. They're delusional. They can't see why people would turn down the opportunity to be "saved" from eternal torment. What Christians can't see is that the only thing they are "saving" people from is a world characterized by rational thought and completely devoit of any tyrannical HItler-esque deities.

As you said: "And I don't know a lot about this stuff since I'm 14." Please know there is no such thing as a Christian child only a child of Christian parents (children don't understand religion just as how they don't understand politics and aren't allowed to vote). I want to tell you not knowing is fine, science embraces not knowing because it gives scientists a puzzle to work on. As you get older you should seek to understand things such as religion rather than persist in ignorance as many adults do though. Your family don't question the possibility that God doesn't exist because they were (likely) told by their parents, who were told by their parents and so on that God exists, that he loves you and if you believe in Jesus you will get to have eternal life. For the most part this is harmless, it's when they bring in the notion of eternal pain and suffering in Hell for those who don't believe. People believe in the God of their parents and their grandparents, most people do. That's to say if you were born in Ancient Greece you'd be worshiping Zeus, in Old Norse times you'd be worshiping Thor and so on. There's a Big Think Interview I thought of (called "Ricky Gervais: Jesus Was My Invisible Babysitter") when I read your question, it links well to what you're saying and it's reasonably short. Definitely worth a watch, I'll link it below.

I don't have a problem with atheists! In fact, they have helped me more on my journey of discovery! I like THEM!
Christians will tell you that it is their DUTY to save your soul! Whether you want to be saved or not
! As for the missionaries, look at what they have done to the populations of those countries they have ''helped'' down through the centuries! \Or should we say ''destroyed '' down through the centuries! Every native people they have come in contact with, has been decimated in the long run! The natives would have been better off left alone, than what was done to them!
Why don't they just stick to selling their wares on Sunday, and leave the rest of us alone?

I'm a Christian. Not only do I not have a problem with atheists, but I count many of them as personal friends. Many people don't happen to share my religious beliefs, and I don't see that as a threat. I support freedom of religion, and that includes the right to not believe, as well.

We who follow the Lord Jesus Christ are very certain that He is truly the Savior of the World. We are so proud of Him and we are so intent on doing as He instructed. This is my reasoning and my logic. I may not be speaking for anyone else but I do so love my Jesus.

I do not have a problem with them- I love them and do not wish for them to live life without knowing Jesus. Or even worse, to die without knowing him and go to hell. I have witnessed Gods power and grace and know through that relationship that I must always tell others of his word- even if I am not met with open arms. Its not about making it easy on me- it is about obeying the one who changed and saved me from myself.

Actually, because Atheists are Satanic.
Atheism is defined as "separation from god". Satanism is defined the same way. There are a few minor differences. Atheists don't believe in god, while satanists do. But the effect, separation from god, is the same. Atheism employs the energy of separation from god, just as the satanist does, in general. The Atheists do it involuntary, without notice, because they do not believe in a god presence. Same effect. The atheistic belief system encourages separation from god. They may not be powerful satanists, (think "satan-light") but they are satanic nevertheless.
Yep, atheists are weak versions of Satanists, but they still are...
Now you know why.
