Which one would try to convert the other first?
The Christian, of course.
But I think, and rightly so, that deep, deep down every Christian thinks like an Atheist; they are just afraid of the consequences, just in case God exists; a kind of life insurance.
I do not blame them, but I pity them.

You make a good point but I don't think it would always swing the way of the Christian trying to convert the Athiest.

We all have our beliefs and that can be taken from no one. No one should feel pressured into joining a religion also no one should try to force anyone into there Religion,if they can't live along side each other then this world is worse then I thought.

Also most Athiest don't believe in God or the Bible for that matter and choose not to adhear to it, if they truly believed that it didn't exist then they would not convert without a change of mind and that is mostly done through pressure on the other persons part which i believe is morally injust.

But freedom of speech and freedom to choose what you want there is no denying that.

Blessed be

My mom is a Christian and my dad is an Atheist. Neither have ever tried to convert the other. They have no problem with each others beliefs, in fact they don't even talk about who's right or anything. Neither cares. If it's possible for some one to totally believe there are no god's/God then I'm sure it's possible for some one to follow a religion and have no doubts. Stop being stupid. I have to problem with any ones religion, it doesn't concern me what you believe, just like it doesn't matter what you think of other peoples beliefs. I may be an Atheist but there is no way for me to prove there is no God, if I could I don't even think I would anyway.

To answer your highlighted question, the answer is DOOM.
Secondly:
Christians are not closet atheist. I can easily turn that around and say that atheist are closet believers. But I won't. I wouldn't want to be accused of trying to convert an atheist. You choose what you want to believe. I will pat you on the back and say go for it.
What you refuse to believe is that for a christian there are no consequences if God exist or not. Christians acted in the best interest for humanity, God or no God. Atheist on the other hand have a behavior that is destructive to humanity God or no God. Atheist have a behavior that is self centered, its all about me and who cares. That is the nature of an atheist. I am first and to hell with it all. I will die and there is no accountability.

That is an absolute lie that every Christian thinks like an atheist and are just afraid of the consequences.
Yes, fear of God is the first step in becoming a Christian. We should fear God for a good reason.
But then FAITH is a gift from God. Unless you are a Christian, you do not know what it is like to know Jesus. When you are given faith, then you sincerely believe. When you believe, you realize what a piece of crap you are compared to a Holy God and you repent of your sins and are saved. The Bible says that the spirit of the Lord enters you and your old self is passed away and you are a new creature. Yes, you will still sin, but your sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

I pity you for your ignorance, unbelief, and lack of faith.

My husband was an atheist for most of his 45 years on this earth. We had an understanding we didnt discuss God or religion. He found his own way to God. Only the Holy Spirit can convert someone, another person cant, they can only plant the seed of the word of our Lord and savior.

Christianity isn't based on logic; it is based on emotion.

A well-known psychological phenomenon known as the "escalation effect" is relevant. It is the tendency for people to increase their commitment to a failing course of action to justify investments made already.

Once Christians get scared into believing God, it is hard to stop. The longer they are trapped in the cult, the harder it is to leave. People will do anything to avoid acknowledging the fact that they made a mistake or were wrong. Christianity has been proven wrong. Any impartial observer could see that.

To answer your question, I don't think a marriage between a devout Christian and an Atheist can work. I would be too tempted to treat my wife in a condescending manner because she thinks fairies, leprechauns, and Jesus are real.

Oh, boy! Nope, I live feeling deep down that some day I'm going to be with my Lord for eternal life. How's that for insurance? Non-believers are the ones that need the pity.

An uphill battle will take place, by your action and talk the Victor will come forward (Christian)

It will be a battle from the hour you say "I DO"

May the Holy Ghost be our constant companion!

Well, they have their beliefs and mentally hold onto them like a smoker does their cigarette.

However, not to be outdone, an Atheist does the same thing with their belief. It's "belief," itself, that you have in common.

If you ever stop questioning whether you are wrong, you have already failed in practice. Never stop, no matter what your belief.
