I've been told that I'm very attractive and sexy but I can be kinda quiet and shy at times, can being quiet and shy keep a man from approaching me? Once I get to know a person, I come out of my shell. But I'm not always quiet and shy.

Well, you have many different types of men, so obviously you have different types of taste. All I can tell you is what I like.
To me, what makes a woman first seem attractive, before even talking to her, is her physical features.
Face: A pretty smile and nice teeth.
Chest: I never much liked a big chest.
Hair: Well-groomed, and has to be at least shoulder-length
A woman should also be attractive on the inside:
Giving
Compassionate
Honest
Good sense of humor
If she has all of these qualities, then she gets all my respect, AND my attention.

Being shy won't stop a guy, provided you are actually just 'alittle shy' as you say. If you are extremely shy that might be a bit of a problem, guys might mistake it for being cold. Try and be as open as possible, if I guy comes up to you and you want to talk, just talk, and never be afraid to go up to a guy you like. It's great that you're physically attractive and one of the greatest turn ons for guy is an attractive gilr who is not too conscious about how attractive she is. You're shyness signals although you are attractive you aren't one of those over-bearing people who will go out to get everyones attention. I like girls like that and I think most guys do as well. The important thing is not to be too shy.

It is nice to be visible attractive but sooner or later that fades. I am older than most on this forum but love a smart, intelligent, loving woman with goals of making her partner her best friend well that is what is attractive to me.
You are my favorite type. The shyness is a reserve, it protects you from predators. Once you meet MR. Right then you open up some and he and only he sees the full package of who you are.

everything they say is to get u to have sex
they will tell u anything to have sex
