some, yes, most, no. It's because their parents raised them to think it's all about them. pathetic, i know.

Some kids are spoiled rotten because their parents do not know how to be parents. They probably are not conscious of it because that is their way of life. Parents are afraid to be parents and tell their children no and make them behave. There are a lot of them out there. They also do not teach their children table manners anymore.

I'm not sure, that's a good question. I don't get why some parents that have a lot of money have to buy their kids everything they want. I'm glad my parents taught me about hard work and about the value of a dollar. Some people think everything in life should be thrown at them. I don't think they are conscious of it, I think they just start believing they are the greatest thing ever and everyone should give them anything they want because of it. But who wouldn't think that if they grew up getting everything they wanted?? You know?

It is easier for a parent to act as the child's friend or not to get involved at all than to face conflict and discipline the child if necessary. That way, children learn that they can do and get whatever they want if only they raise their voice or pester the parent long enough. Saying no and staying the course is hard to do, so many parents avoid it.

Because some parents think money equals love, they feel guilty for not spending time with them so they buy them everything they ask for, and think this means they can ignore their responsibility to be a parent. I grew up with plenty of money, but I still had to work for anything I wanted. My parents would match me dollar for dollar if I was saving for something I wanted. I think it is sad that some kids don't have a clue what to do once they are on their own and often end up repeating their parents mistakes, it becomes a cycle, and one that is hard to break. All it takes to raise a child that is well behaved and compassionate, is love, NOT money.

I don't know but I get dam*ed tired of it. I usually don't talk like that, but seriously. In my school people get so many advantages if their families have money. I have had to work my butt off for everything I have (Cheer leading, front line in dance, honor roll) coming from a single parent family. My mom and I are very proud of me and we have a greater since of accomplishment then they do knowing that I worked for it. I know being rich automatically doesn't make you spoiled, but that's how it is in my (very small) town. Thanks for the vent haha.

I think it's their parent's responsibility to raise their kids to be decent, not whiney and spoiled. Kids can have a new toy every now and then, but not every time they whine and complain...that's spoiled.

Some parents think "love" means giving the child what they want.

I have a son who is obsessed with having toys. He's finding out that no matter how much he begs, if the answer is no, it is NO. He has too many toys already thanks to relatives.

I'd love to give him all the toys he wants, to be honest, but he has to learn that he can't have what he wants when he wants it. We don't have the money--or the room!

B/c the way they were raised. And most the time they aren't aware of it till they become older or in some cases adults.
