not even SSI can tell you, they will give you an estimated time. It will come soon, just check your mail, and monitor you bank account. If you chose direct deposit it will arrive soon. EDIT: For others asking the same, I have a close friend that battled the Social Security Administration for over 1 year now, and is medically disabled. Without a lawyer and tons of medical reports and evaluations, this could have gone on for a couple of years. Amazing, if your illegal, you get it right away. If you have paid in all your life, they don't want you to have it.

Mine came in two seperate checks several months apart...the first was probably within 6 months of getting approved.
It took me 4 years to get mine...it was an incredibly awful fiasco...hired and fired two lawyers, finally did it myself, speaking directly to the judge. Despite having a very long and apparent psychiatric history and having had many times when I was to ill to do anything, including take care of myself and many other factors that made the need obvious...nobody could find any of the right records, places telling me I had never worked there or gone to school there...etc...
My advice to others applying...have ALL of your information gathered, this includes complete names, addresses and phone numbers of doctors, clinics, etc. Be very specific, keep good records and do not get discouraged. My situation took longer than most, but the majority of applicants are turned down initially and getting approved in less than 18 months in not common. Appeal IMMEDIATELY. A second denial is not uncommon, you need to appeal that and request a hearing. Follow through.

it usually takes about four months to get through the system, and then you will find a big fat check in your mailbox, or direct deposit, whichever you chose
