The first thing you have to do is reduce your fat intake to 30% (or less) a day. It will be hell going through withdrawal-there will be hunger pains, stomach growlings, and cravings, which will last for about 3 days. Use every low fat food you want-but kiss the potato chips, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and everything you like goodbye. Rule #1-if it tastes good, you can't have it. Once you break this need for high-fat foods, it will be much easier to stay on that healthy diet.
I had the same problem; sticking to a healthy regimen. If you can't give up hamburgers (my obvious weakness, I've mentioned them twice now; tee-hee) try the veggie-burgers, they're pretty good.
Best of luck to you.

you have to be prepared for lifestyle changes, and change your eating habits!

follow these tips -

1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, lean protein, vegies and fruits

2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks. Get rid of the junk food from the cupboards! Eat cashew / almond nuts instead.

3) drink plenty of water / green tea

4) Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program. you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat. With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat.

Here's a review link to a program

5) as you are doing now - Have 5-6 healthy meals a day(1 plate portions) to keep your body satisfied

6) if you have cravings drink water or eat fruits

7) have an action plan for long term goals, start off with small goals and increase it gradually over time. And you will see in your size drop.

8) form a support group. Make yourself accountable to someone like your parents/relatives/friends/partners. Best yet, get them to participate in a healthy lifestyle.

Good luck

always remember that the pleasure you get from losing weight is better than the oral pleasure you get from food.

In other words, pleasure from a great looking body will last, pleasure from food only lasts about 10 seconds that its in your mouth.
You are the only one that is pleasured by food, while others will see your beautiful body and admire it.!
Good luck!

Also, Therapy. They can deal with emotional eating too, a very common thing that most people don't even know have it. Go to a therapist and he/she will help you.
Exercise and diet with a friend!

Willpower comes and goes, so it's important to surround yourself with healthy food choices. Fill your fridge with lowfat yogurt, and fresh veggies. If there is no junkfood at home, then you can't eat it..so just don't buy it. If your friends go out to fast food places, eat before you go with them so you're not hungry.
I understand how hard it is to stick to the plan. Why not give yourself one day a week that you allow yourself to cheat a little, so you never feel deprived. It's unrealistic to think you can give up your favorite foods forever, so eat them in smaller portions.

motivation is key. count on a friend or family member to be this for you.

keep a sticky note calendar. have a goal date in mind
(ie: on december first i want to weigh Xpounds)
and count down (with sticky notes) how many days remain.

this way you won't be able to put it off and put it off. :)

hang it right on your wall or refrigerator so it is a constant reminder.

and weigh yourself once a week. i like to weigh myself on saturday when i wake up because it splits the weekend.

good luck!
