It took me a long time to accept that I was depressed. I just thought I was tired and needed some rests. After 5 plus years of medications and therapy, it hasn't helped. It was a long and frustrating road and after all this suffering and to still be depressed is beyond frustrating. Believe me, I've really tried. I know it has to be something wrong with me. Even different psychiatrist have tried to help.

Question: What would you do when everything available fails?

Look to natural remedies like St. John's Wort, or exercise, diet and meditation (natural mood enhancers and stabilizers), speak to a naturopath, natural eastern medicines, think about getting another therapist; there is also the possibility of electro-shock/electro-convulsion treatment (it's come a long way since the old days apparently, and there are stories of some people that say it is the only thing that worked). I would really research and think hard about that last one though.

I'm in your shoes right now and where I live they don't offer specific treatments that I need but I do alot of my own research and investigations cause apparently no one here is going to do it for me. I could travel 5 hours for treatment but that just doesn't make sense to me not now anyways. I do have an awesome therapist, in fact we're putting together a presentation on BPD for our community mental health clinic, its very stressful and alot of hard work, but only I can shed some light on this disorder since I suffer from it, my therapist is right behind me on this all the, he's teasing me now saying we're going on the road with it, he he. Got to do for yourself when they can't do it for you...Good Luck

My mother has been dealing with the same problem for years. (17 to 40 something) she has tried everything and even had ect's. Finlay she went to a Dr' that put her on meds that worked. it;s trial and error. and she's been great for a long time. she is on disabiliy, and won't be able to work, but she is functioning, and has done a complete 360.
Don't give up!! Something WILL work!

Keep trying. do not give up! that is the worse thing you can do. Has a Doctor ever checked your thyroid gland? Sometimes there are physical reasons that can cause depressive symptoms. Look at some of these common factors.

dear, for one, stop the medications, look into natural alternatives, and also other alternatives to psychiatry, and psychology. (actually, psychology is okay, providing it is holistic)

spirituality or meditation may help you, relaxation into an atmosphere of love, going to nature and reflecting and talking to angels (everyone is surrounded by angels and love), playing with animals, releasing your pains, letting your frustration unwind, targetting certain areas of your body that are tense through meditation decipher what's causing it, energy healing, yoga, exercise, a change of diet to wholer foods.

these are some very powerful techniques you may explore to help with your life.

Randy, there is only one thing I do, when all else fails..and that is knowing that I can give my problems and worries, to the Lord, with the acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Savior..When you live for God, and Jesus, you learn to have faith, and hope, and when you feel despair, you can always call on Them, and know that They hear you, and will eventually help pull you up...I love my Father, and Randy, believe me, He taught me how to forgive the unforgivable, how to love my enemies, and how to have faith in my darkest hours, that He is in charge, and that I need to leave it to Him, because He knows what is in store for me..so I am happy with out anything in this world, except with the knowledge, that He loves me, and gave His son, so I can be forgiven of my sins...if you do not know Him, try praying to Him, But you must pray through Jesus, or He won't hear you...and give your life to Him..be His humble servant...and all good will come to you, when man has failed you God Bless Randy, you are in my prayers, I pray for peace and happiness for you xxxx
