I don't think that there is a number you can give because each person is different. I'm not going to say no sex before marriage because there are people who won't care about that, but I think that its about the maturity of the person and not their age. 2 people at 17 can be completely different maturity wise where one is still a kid, but another is more grown up.
As my 10th grade teacher said, "adulthood is about maturity, not chronological age."

That depends on you. Are you ready? will you use protection?
If you know you're ready and will do it responsibly, then go forth an enjoy.
One caveat: if your not "of age" in your state you should wait until you are. Every state is different, so check your state "Age of Consent" don't assume it's 18.
But Generally speaking 17 is a great age to have sex! Enjoy.

There is no number. If you think there is, you are far too immature to be thinking about sex.
You are readyfor sex when you are emotionally, physically and intellectually mature enough to deal with all of the consequences of the act.
By that, I mean you are responsible for your own sexual actions. It seems to me that you are a long way from that.
