The oldest alcoholic beverage was mead. It has occured naturally, for tens of thousands of years (probably much longer) as dew and water would gather in bees nests. Wild yeast spores would find their way into the bees nests via wind and combine with the water and honey mixture fermenting with time to form a naturally occuring mead.
Patois is also correct, that the oldest known human brewed alcoholic beverage is thought to be the beverage that was found in remnants of pottery in China in the Jiahu Yellow River basin which is believed to be near 9000 years old. Microanalysis was done by molecular archeologists and with help from the Dogfish Head brewery in Milton, Delaware they have attempted to recreate this ancient brew. They (Dogfish Head) call it Chateau Jiahu and you can actually purchase it at most beer and liquor stores now.

In order from most ancient to most recent, I would list the following order of alcoholic beverages:
1) Fruit-based wine
2) Mead
3) Fermented milk
4) Beer
5) Distilled liquor
The first alcoholic beverage in the world was most likely created by accident when somebody simply left a pile of fruit sitting around too long and it fermented, probably in a covered clay pot or a tied animal skin. Somebody above mentioned another possibility that the first alcoholic drink was mead being naturally created by rainwater mixing with honey in a bee's nest and fermenting, but humans were eating fruit long before they were messing around with bees nests and harvesting honey, and I say that all else being equal the simplest explanation is probably the correct one (occam's razor). Mongols and various central-Asian steppe tribes today still drink a brew made from fermented yak or goat's milk, which consists of nothing more than milk that has been left sitting in an animal skin bag for several days and shaken once in a while. People didn't herd animals until after they lived as hunters and gatherers, so I would place fermented milk beverages as number 3 in the list. The first 3 drinks could easily have been discovered from naturally-occuring substances alone. But beer requires the deliberate harvesting and processing of malted grain and soaking or boiling it in water, and it was probably dicovered when some baker had a piece of bread sitting around in a bowl of water and it fermented. Or perhaps after a rainstorm, a pot of malted grain intended for baking got filled with water. In any case, since beer brewing requires many of the same initial procedures as making bread, I would list beer as number 4. And relatively speaking, the most technologically-advanced techniques are required for distilling other fermented drinks, which makes liquor the most recent type of alcoholic drink ever invented.

It's very difficult to say as alcohol has been consumed since prehistoric times. It's known that wine was consumed at religious festivals as early as 1bc, and that beer was widely consumed in the middle-ages. however, alcohol is known to have been used for medicinal purposes earlier than 2100bc.
One of the first "named" wines was Pulque, which was developed by the Aztecs some time during or before the 15th century. It was mainly restricted to religious ceremonies but was freely available to those over 70.

Traces of a rice, honey and fruit alcoholic beverage were found in pottery in China dating back 9000 years. Beer was made in ancient Mesopotamia. Alcoholic beverages and fermentation have been part of human culture since prehistoric times.
Edit: Thank you to Anthony below for the information about actually being able to purchase this Chinese concoction!
