Couple ways:
1. Have your girl friend splash you in the face while in the swimming pool and try to keep your eyes open.
2. Allow softer pitty pat jabs to land/graze off the top of your head when sparring. If you plan on getting hit with the soft jab bend at the knees and let it graze off your head. Then slam home your right hand.
3. Don't look your opponent in the eyes. Look at your opponents middle upper chest/collar bone area. This keeps your chin down and you are less likely to miss punches with his head fakes. His twitching shoulders will help you anticipate his punches.
4. Instead of flinching - bob straight down using your knees only. You can also bob left & right using knees and torso.
Hope this helps.
p.s. a stiff jab on your part with slight head movement is also affective. Be first punching and keep your chin down and your mouth CLAMPED shut.

ducking is not a bad reflex but the twitching sort of is. A way to stop all of that but not the ducking because that is an advantage is to imagine the kick or punch coming at you in slow motion. I do Martial Arts myself and i have encountered this problem myself too. You just have to train yourself no to close your eyes or to flinch. Before sessions and practices try and calm your body down it will help from keeping those reflexs so accurate. GOOD LUCK!!!

That's a natural reaction every one has to learn to deal with, and the best and only way to get over it is just more practice.
Start sparring, learn correct drills as a defence for each punch.
That way your brain is not panikcing and flicking through 10 different options to defend you each time it sees a punch coming.
You neuro train yourself so your brain pikcs the best option every time, that way you keep your eyes opne without even worrying.
That'ts what boxers are doing when you see them hitting pads with the coach and he scoots the pad at them and they weave under it etc.
Ignore anything about hitting speed bags and splashing water in the face etc. Where do people come up with this crap?

Haha...
I asked this question a while back.
What really helped me was just sparring lightly and just getting used to getting hit on the head.
When your partner hits you on the head, tell him to do it lightly on the top of the head.
Also, I heard wearing goggle and splashing water on yourself and trying not to blink helps.
Hope this helps.

Learn Chi Sao and play it all the time. You'll have a hell of alot of punches being thrown to your face and chest.

Close your eyes! You won't see it coming, you won't flinch...and you'll get to see stars (as a bonus).
