I know this man, that after he separated from his ex became completely fixated with his daughter (3). When he is with her, he cuts off all forms of communication with the outside world, doesn't answer the phone, door, etc. because he doesn't want anything to interrupt his time with her. He is not practical about having anyone else in his life. Should it be a concern about his obsession with his daughter? It is really bizarre, forgetting to simply close the front door of his house and leaving it wide open for hours because he went upstairs with her. I find this behavior to be unhealthy for the child because she will always expect her way etc. Thoughts? References? Is there a name for this?

No I don't think he is a pedaphile, I've seen the girl before and she is as happy as can be so that can't be it. I just think his fixation with her is extremely odd.

You said she was only 3? That is called being a parent. I do the same thing with my youngest. I would much rather have fun seeing my daughter giggle while we color or do building blocks than answer the phone too.

Maybe he knows what she will turn into in 13 more years and is enjoying a phase in her life that is so very fleeting? I suggest this as I lived it from my oldest pain in the butt/teenager (younger teen is not mean though thankfully). So I eat up every second of my youngest one's cuteness.

Kuddos to the guy being a good dad and stepping up with extra time for her while mom is out doing who knows what now.

What's the problem other than an overactive suspicion? After all she is only 3. I recommend you read and he read:

Good luck in your approach to this, good health, peace and love!

This is not normal behavior for a grown man. I would be very concerned about what is going on. It might not be anything, but this is cause for alarm.
