it all depends on the state that you live in.There are some counties that do not require a smog check.Then there are some states that have no somg at all.Go online and look around then write your paper

most states have it but not all counties of the state are included in the test, only the high smog level counties have to have it in Ohio anyway.

no sometimes it is by county or even by city. I live in Idaho, in Ada county you have to get them done every year but in the neighboring county you do not.
