We gave Iraq some intelligence support during their war with Iran. A quick look at the weapons used by Iraq show no U.S. weapons. He had French and Soviet fighter jets, Soviet tanks, Soviet hand and crew-served weapons of the Kalashnikov weapons systems. Even the Scud missiles were a product of the Soviet Union. So, your question is quite lacking in its logic.

Hmm funny how you do not mention how Iran had declared war on the US for overruning US territory by storming our Embessy which is an act of war. As a result we aided Saddam against an enemy who had attacked America.

Last time I checked we have never declared war on Iran.

Especially, since those same weapons we sold him, were used against Iran. I wonder why they have animosity towards us? Might have more to do with the CIA led coup against their government in 53 though.
