I'm going to a hotel party tonight and its in the event of my friends 21st birthday. Now what will proper etiquette tell me to do? There will be alot of cool people, cute girls and the sort. i dont want to go up in there lookin like a douchebag with my gift all wrapped nicely with a ribbon on it. i bought her MASH Season 1 DVD Set. Should i just hand it to her like that or should i wrap it up? or put it in a bag? should i include the receipt?

(this is a good example of random *** questions on yahoo answers, thank you in advance =]

Wrap it or put it in a gift bag with tissue. Include a gift receipt, but not one with the price on it. I guarantee you will not look like a "douchebag" for wrapping your gift, but you may look like one if you just hand her the DVDs. Have fun.

Either gift wrap it or put it in a nice bag. Don't include the receipt.

Gift bag, but not the price tag. Don't forget a card. It's a girl? I'd put a single red rose inside the bag with the DVD set. Unless it's your sister....

i personally like it when people gift wrap my presents.. i love tearing it open. but honestly, it really doesnt matter unless she is a very picky person. if you really dont feel like doing work but still want to be in the safe side, just throw it in a bag and some tissue paper and you will be fine!

I say buy one of those gift bags and the paper you stuff in it and there you go. Not to formal and not too lazy.

Wrap a ribbon around it, and slide-in a birthday card on top.
