eating protein shakes will not help your muscles recover from working out. lactic acid builds up around your muscles while you work out and needs time to get reabsorbed into your body, otherwise it will cause your muscles to cramp and strain. it could even cause you to have tearing in your muscles if you work out too much.

Protein shakes are not a good idea. Your kidneys need to process all that protein, your body will only be able to utilize so much of it the rest your pee/poop out. You can cause long term kidney problems with a steady diet of those protein shakes.

Regarding working muscles. Basically what happens when you do strength building is that you are breaking down the muscle when lifting, causing very minor muscle damage. You should give your muscles a day off to heal before you damage them again.
