Well, we can all thank a policeman, a fireman, a military member, which we all should. those are very dangerous jobs. At the same time, a postman, a garbage man, the guy who digs the crap out of the sewers after a huge rainstorm, they deserve our thanks as well. Just go up and shake their hand, smile and tell them thanks for doing what the rest of us won't.

I am very happy to wish well to all those who will share their lives for crap pay, and crappier hours, but you are right... what about the rest of them?

I heard for months about some firefighters who were killed in a McDonald's Restaurant fire. A young lady working there also died. They don't mention her on the news.. .They merely say "The fire that killed the fireman" Well, that's HIS job to go into fires. it is not that young lady's job to do that. She should be remembered as much if not more than those who have shared their lives for the purpose of going into a fire. So, let's thank that young lady, and her family for giving her a brief life of servitude with no gratitude.

You have a good point here.

But we must still thank our vets, because if you think about it, that is a pretty nasty job in itself, being an underpaid, underappreciated grunt who drudges around in the mud, in the dirt, thirsty, hungry and tired with mortar rounds and AK-47's shooting just over their heads.

Good point, it's not like you see the politically-inclined trying to portray Democrats/Republicans/Whatever as "Not supporting the Policemen".

Just because they're not sent overseas for combat, doesn't mean essential service workers are any less important than the military. I wouldn't know a coal miner if I saw one, but I tend to greet police officers when I see them on the street.

Besides a financial contribution to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society I also make one to my local police department's injured officer fund. And I did that long before September 11, 2001.

Every time you see a fireman or policeman or any other government employee go up and personally thank them. I do this every time I see a fireman or policeman or armed forces personnel. Walk up to them and thank them. You could also write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper thanking all these people for a job well done.

I trust maximum individuals right here that it actual is positive, and respectful and robust manners to assert "thank you", whether it ought to be their activity, they are doing some thing for YOU. I constantly be certain I thank somebody on each occasion i will for issues like that. How he feels will actual play some area on your courting and already looks to have created some style of disagreement, and it is in basic terms a small ingredient. yet purely understand those human beings you're saying thank you to, rather do appreciate it. maximum persons are impolite and rushed and probable say "What took you notice you later!" yet your type thank you and a grin may well be adequate to make their undesirable day sturdy. persist with it, all of us could say thank you on each occasion achieveable.
