In the old testament people used to kill animals and their blood was used as a sacrifiCe to forgive us of our "sins".
In the new testament the Christian God killed himself-son to be able to forgive us, REMEMBER HE WAS ALL POWERFUL BUT ONLY BLOOD COULD FORGIVE!!!.
I asked the Christians why the needof blood to forgive, somone said " the animal sacrifice was a temporary solution while the blood of Christ was a permanent solution".
Here on example of Christian rationalization

Why an all powerful God need BLOOD?
Besides if you do not accept this morbid idea, you will end up tortured in hell.
Why? Noone asked this God to kill himself-son to forgive, why should we accept something we did not ask for?

I don't understand the blood lust thing either. If God is love, then why would he want dead animals and people, eg., his son/himself, to cover for our sins? Ick.

I suspect that blood for sin is not Christian. Jesus himself said "I will have mercy, not sacrifice." Matt. 9:13. Real Christianity was left behind when Paul's teachings become more popular.

But real Christianity can still be found in the Sermon on the Mount and the story of the Prodigal Son. The father in that story didn't need sacrifice... he simply welcomed his son when he returned home.

Check it out. Sin kills. Hence do not murder, steal, etc. Watch the news sometimes. Blood represents life. The shedding of blood is symbolic of death which is the result of sin. The Father seen that man was in serious trouble (sin). So He sent the Son to offer man hope, justification, and faith. He died for this.

In the Father's universe fair is fair. The sins of all mankind would have required most of it to face eternal death. The only one perfect and infinite enough to atone for infinite transgression is the actual creator of the universe. He paid with His life to save us and cover our sin in that way.

We all make this decision in life. But remember the Christian God isn't just for Christians. If for the sake of argument we are right (I truly believe we are). Than that means you will face judgment as well. As will all mankind.

Sometime in the life (on borrowed time) you live, must come a decision. This world isn't going to go no like this for much longer (watch the news). You can choose to have faith and discover your Creator. Or turn a blind eye and follow your own limited pursuits. What He wills will surely happen. Peace be with you.

By Adam's transgression sin and death entered the world. Christ died to allow sin to be forgiven and for death to be overcome. How could he overcome death if he did not die? It would not have been possible.

How could he comprehend our trials and sufferings if he did not descend below all things and have this experience for himself. It would not have been possible.

Even in the old testament, the sacrifices pointed to Christ's sacrifice, that is why they were required to sacrifice the first born of their flocks, without blemish and without broken bones, because it all pointed to the sacrifice of Christ that would be made by the only begotten and he who was without sin.

God is just and gives laws which carry blessings or punishments according to our obedience. If a law is given and he just disregards it, then it becomes meaningless and God would cease to be God. Just because he gives a law, does not mean there is no mercy because God is merciful too and provided a way for the law to be satisified to the demands of justice and allow mercy for the repentent who accept the sacrifice made in their behalf.

It was just an old tradition. They carried it on to the death of Christ to give meaning for belief. This is like so many believe and some are just afraid to say it but it is a story a stupid man made story. A god just would not be so shallow but then look who he was dealing with. Someone who made heaven and earth and came to be one of us and this is all he gave us. Come on people!

Are you really wanting an answer to this, or are you just still ranting?
In order to understand this, one must understand God, and created beings.
God did the very first sacrifice of animals when Adam and Eve sinned. Their sin had to be "covered" or atoned for. GOD IS TOO HOLY AND GOOD TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF SIN so , He had to make a way OUT OF SIN for us. That is why sinners do not go to heaven, unless they have repented and been forgiven. Now, the thing about blood is, there is POWER in blood or (lifeblood) as God calls it. The life of the creature is actually in the blood of the creature. The sacrifices "cleansed" the sins. But, the blood had to be from pure creatures with no flaws, etc. It's all in the Levitical Laws.
But, since sin entered the world through Adam, since he was the first man who sinned, then all who were born after that (because we are all descendants of Adam) were born into sin. That's why all the sacrifices of animals in the Temple.
God decided He wanted to end all sacrifices, so He had a plan of salvation for all the sinners of the world. He made Himself man, Jesus Christ, God incarnate (in the flesh) and came down to sacrifice Himself for all of our sins. He DIED A HORRIBLE DEATH FOR US, SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO DIE A SECOND DEATH (Lake of Fire), and be punished eternally. So, God, being the GRACIOUS AND LOVING GOD that He is, GAVE US A WAY OUT OF OUR SINS BY DYING FOR US. What other god do you know that has so much love that they would do that? NONE! Have you ever heard the song, "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus"? Well, nothing could have atoned for all the sins of the world but Jesus' PURE blood. He was the Lamb of God. The pure and spotless Lamb. Nothing is more POWERFUL than His blood that was shed for us for the remission of sins! Don't you see what He did? He loves you that much!
You may call it morbid. I call it wonderful! We don't deserve what He did for us, but that is called Grace. It is getting something good that we don't deserve. All you have to do is repent of your sins. Confess that Jesus is God in the flesh, and came down and died on the cross, and rose from the dead, defeating death, so that we may have eternal life with Him. Then, live your life for Him, and you will spend eternity with a loving God! God is about love, not hate. You do not understand His ways, that's all.
I pray you will read His word, and understand. Then, get on your knees and thank Him for the ultimate sacrifice He made for you! God Bless

That's kind of like saying - God wouldn't let people died. People die. Therefore God doesn't exist. Or how about God wouldn't let people suffer. People suffer therefore God doesn't exist.

Problem is that your concept of God doesn't actually fit into reality does it?

Heb 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

That's just the way it is. So get over it.

I've often asked Christians that if my choice is between reaping the just rewards of my sins or getting off scott free, wouldn't I be a weasel to choose to get off scott free? I mean, what would they think of an admitted child molestor/murderer that went into court and was offered a choice by the judge to compensate his victims or get off scott free and he chose getting off scott free? They would be incensed and would definitely call him worse names than 'weasel'.

Sacrificing humans and animals, spilling blood to please a god... these things only bother Christians when rumors start to spread about satanic activity on Halloween.

To understand why Christianity is a “bloody religion,” we must go back to God’s declarations regarding blood in the Old Testament: “the life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11, 14). Here God tells us that life and blood are essentially one and the same. The blood carries life-sustaining nutrients to all parts of the body. It represents the essence of life. In contrast, the shedding of blood represents the shedding of life, i.e. death.

Blood is also used in the Bible to represent spiritual life. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden by disobeying God and eating fruit of the forbidden tree, they experienced spiritual death immediately, and physical death years later. God’s warning, “You shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17) was fulfilled. Their blood—their lives—were now tainted by sin. In His gracious plan, however, God provided a “way out” of their dilemma by declaring that sacrifices of blood, first the blood of animals and finally the blood of the Lamb of God (Jesus Christ), would be sufficient to cover the sin of fallen mankind and restore us to spiritual life. He instituted the sacrificial system, beginning with the animals He himself killed to provide the first garments, thereby “covering” the sin of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:21). All the Old Testament sacrifices which followed from then on were temporary ones, needing to be repeated over and over. These continual sacrifices were a foreshadowing of the one true and final sacrifice, Christ, whose blood shed on the cross would pay the penalty of sin forever. His death made any further bloodshed unnecessary (Hebrews 10:1-10).

As far as Christianity being a bloody religion, it is. But it is uniquely a bloody religion. Contrary to bloodless religions, it takes sin seriously, indicating that God takes sin seriously and gives a death penalty for it. Sin is not a small matter. It is the simple sin of pride that turned Lucifer into a demon. It was the simple sin of jealousy that caused Cain to slay Abel, etc. And in Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit, they believed the deceiver over a good and loving God, choosing to rebel against His love and denying the goodness of His character. Christianity is a bloody religion because it views sin as a holy God views it—seriously.

Also, because God is just, sin requires a penalty. God cannot merely forgive in mercy until the demands of justice have been met. Thus the need for a sacrifice before forgiveness is possible. The shedding of the blood of animals, as Hebrews points out, could only "cover" sin for a time (Hebrews 10:4) until the intended and sufficient sacrifice was made in Christ's atoning death. Thus, Christianity is different from other bloody religions in that it alone provides a sufficient sacrifice to take care of the sin problem.

Last, although Christianity presents a bloody sacrifice in these regards, it is the only religion that is bloodless in the end. The opposite of death is life. In Jesus' death, He brought life as is shown in so many verses. And in trusting Christ and His atoning sacrifice for one's sins, one is saved from death and has passed into life (John 5:24; 1 John 3:14). In Him is life. All other paths lead to death (Acts 4:16; John 14:6).
