Put a rubber band around your wrist. Every time you recognize that you are saying a swear word, snap it. You associate the bad word with pain, and you'll stop saying the bad words. It's a negavtive response.

First of all I want to say Good for you!! that is excellent that you are trying to disciplene yourself. I like the idea about the rubber band. You should try talking to your parents and tell them that it isn't right. and your sisters shouldn't be saying this stuff around you, or at all for that matter. You could try a swear jar if you want (although it is good to donate anyways) you can put a quarter in the jar each time you swear and donate all the money to some place that needs it. Good luck and keep up with the positive attitude! We need more people in this world like you.

Good for you!!! i don't know many teenagers who want to discipline themselves like that! If you do a swear jar, I think you should take the money in it once it reaches a certain amount and buy something for someone else that you don't like. You don't have to tell them its from you, you could just leave it in their desk or slip it in their locker. You REALLY will try not to swear if you know the money is going toward them. Also you could put a rubber band on your wrist and snap it every time you catch yourself swearing. The thought of the pain should help you stop as well.

Good for you! I don't think swearing will make you burn in hell (lol) but, to my ears it sounds really ignorant, low class and trashy.
It sounds like you already have a degree of self discipline and will succeed with that which you set your mind to. Swearing is a bad habit which is hard to break. Your sisters will have a difficult time getting ahead in the world if this is how they speak.
Listen to how your sisters talk and decide if this is how you want to sound and be perceived by others. That is probably the strongest motivation you need.

Hang with people who don't swear. Don't watch movies with swearing. Don't read books with swearing. Or at least without a lot of swearing. Whatever you always listen to and expose yourself to, you will pick up. That's human nature. I would have said, tell your parents about it, but sounds like they don't care. Find an adult you admire, who doesn't swear and try picking up some good habits. Let your sisters know you don't like it, (hopefully they will listen without cussing you out), and your parents, too. At least it will make them more aware.
