Superposition Theorem

The total current in any part of a linear circuit is the algebraic sum of the currents produced by each source separately.

To evaluate the separate currents to be combined, short out all other voltage sources and open circuit all other current sources. Find the current through the branch in question, then repeat for the other source(s). Add up all the currents from each isolated source to find the actual current in the branch.
