Logic and science is a trick Satan plays on us to turn us away from Jesus.
What is dumb is to use logic and science rather than follow Jesus. There will be many so called smart people burning in hell.

I don't know that context of your discussion. But I have little doubt that you misread that Christian. However when it comes to values, logic and science cannot logically be used as a basis for values. Consider this quote at the csun.edu web site which discusses Logical Fallacies and the Art of Debate
"Naturalistic fallacy. This is the fallacy of trying to derive conclusions about what is right or good (that is, about values) from statements of fact alone. This is invalid because no matter how many statements of fact you assemble, any logical inference from them will be another statement of fact, not a statement of value. If you wish to reach conclusions about values, then you must include amongst your assumptions (or axioms, or premises) a statement of value. Once you have an axiomatic statement of value, then you may use it in conjunction with statements of fact to reach value-laden conclusions. "
Thus, utilitizing logic, we can logically say that statements of value cannot be based upon science and logic.
That is logically correct. Maybe that's what he meant.

I did not say that "logic and science should not be used to test things".
Here is what I actually wrote, so people can see that you're either lying or else not very good at reading comprehension:
"The way your question is phrased, it sounds like you think logic and science are the only things necessary to genuine thought. But faith is as much a matter of observation as logic. You don't use logic or science to prove who your mother is, or where Istanbul is. You take people's word for it. You don't have to travel to Istanbul to prove it exists, you infer it from the fact that it appears on maps (you assume the people who drew the map weren't lying), on airplane schedules, on TV once in a while. Your teachers tell you it exists. You put all this together and decide you believe Istanbul exists. None of this has anything to do with logic or science. Faith, on the intellectual level, works the same way."

yes, and during the 1950s the American Academy for the Advancement of Science and several individual scientists boycotted the publisher Macmillan (in terms of approving high school science text books) because Macmillan had also published books by the Russian American scientist Immanuel Velikovsky. Why did the American scientists want to help dumb down America? what is wrong with the free marketplace of scientific ideas?

Angellius:

Yeah, yeah you do. Science can do a maternity test and prove it. People say Instanbul is located where it is. If you want to find it you check a map. That is logic. Deducing the answer and confirming it is researching.

Not true. I firmly support logic and science, but they should not BECOME a religion. As in, while Darwin's theories may have some support, it is ONLY a theory.
Science and logic are tools by God that we should use, but that does not mean we should abuse them or forget about them, or try to put them above all.
Remember, there is another who wants you to think this way and loose your way back to Him.

As a Christian; logic has value; but it also has limitations. Christians have tests in USA presently; they have not passed all the tests either presently. What is the thing you want to presently test???
