i'm an engineering major and i think i should tell you engineers are the backbone of the world (a bit of propaganda is good for you!)
anyway, engineers mainly put theoretical things into practical use. think of Televisions. scientists had cathode ray tube for maybe 80 or a hundred years and didn't know what to do with it, but probably an engineer came and put it to practical use, televisions.
There are waaaaaaaaaay too many branches of engineering to list them all here, but:
Computer engineering deals with programming and computer efficiency and design
Mechanical concerned with dynamics and physics
I'm getting tired. Just know that any branch of science has a complementary branch of engineering putting thier theory to good use. Cheers
