glitterkittyy: that is indeed a painful spiritual awakening. Having been in a somewhat similar situation myself, my heart goes out to you.

TheBodhiTree: Ahh, much like my own experiences walking the ridges here at home in the Appalachias, occasionally stopping long enough to write a poem. The spirit here is so strong that one could easily lose track and stay out for days (in fact, I have).

~Daughter~: Manic depression is a terrible problem when undiagnosed and I'm very happy that you are doing better. It is wonderful that such a lovely lady has found her niche in the world. Have a wonderful day.

I love your questions.
I had two, one good, one bad.
One was when I was 18 in the worse manic episode of my life, undiagnosed and out of my mind. I was Christian at the time and prayed for mercy through tears and pain until I couldn't take it anymore and tried to kill myself. In the hospital I realized God wasn't listening. (Christians please don't take this as an opportunity to evangelize to me. I am not angry. I am not bitter. It was pure acceptance, nothing more. It's fine. I don't belong to him anyways, blah blah blah)
Second would be when the Gods found me. Looooong story short, they literally about ran me off of the road trying to get my attention. Someone told me once that when you found your religious place, it felt like coming home. And that was exactly how it felt. :)

living in montana, fly fishing in the river alone, big sky and looking at the universe through a large telescope
this has been the most spiritual time for me. i consider spiritual to be connecting with nature and understanding the universe

The first time I ever got stoned. It opened my mind in ways philosophy and religion never could. I was 18, and it was the best love affair of my life. Too bad Mary Jane turned into a ***** that was out to screw me. Frickin' women.

when I was taken out of my body and presented to Jesus at Mass. I truly saw him. The Church was not there anymore.

Probably when my dad died. He died when I wasn't in the room. I rushed in when my mom called me, but he was already gone. Still, it seemed like I could see him slipping away in his eyes.
