Yes, but only if it cannot be corrected with glasses or contacts. If It CAN be corrected it is not legally blind. So, my having the vision I have at 20-600 am not legally blind as it can be corrected with glasses and contacts. O^O

"According to the entry on blindness in the Yahoo! Health Encyclopedia, anyone with vision worse than 20/200 that cannot be improved with corrective lenses is considered legally blind. In addition, people with a visual field of less than 20 degrees diameter (10 degrees radius) are also considered legally blind."

Yes, 20/600 is worse than 20/200, therefore it is considered legally blind.

Like many people, you don't understand the definition of being legally blind. To be legally blind, you have to have 20/200 or worse vision with the best possible correction. I have -16.00 glasses that correct me to 20/30 so I'm far from being legally blind. Your vision is just fine. Converting an eye prescription to 20/x is not an exact science, but your vision without the contacts is probably around 20/600.

As long as your vision can be corrected with lenses, you aren't legally blind. My vision is 20/750. I asked my eye doctor when I last saw him if I was legally blind. He said I would be if I had an eye disease such as cataracts or glaucoma. But he said as long as contact or eyeglass lenses can compensate for my vision, or lack-thereof, I am not considered legally blind.

Only if it is your vision with glasses or contacts on and the other eye is 20/200 or worse with glasses or contacts on.
