No, and I hope that never happens. After more than ten years of barefooting my feet are definitely tough, but not insensitive. The pleasures of going barefoot are being able to feel all the different surfaces underfoot; even on a city walk, there are many different surfaces, some smooth and some rough, some cool and some warm (hot hardly ever happens in my climate, but occasionally that too), and outdoors there are even more. While my feet are tough enough that even gravel, thorns or rocks don't *hurt*, I do *notice* them. Tough skin does not stop all feeling, and if I ever find I no longer feel what I'm walking on, it's likely to be a sign of nerve damage.

I can't say that I've gone barefoot so long that my feet don't feel bare, but I have forgotten I was barefoot a few times. I go barefoot so much, that I've gotten out of the car at work, and thought I'd left some flips in the car, or in my backpack only to find that I didn't have any with me. Oh well, they're so used to seeing me barefoot, it didn't matter.

This past summer I was barefoot for 9+ days on vacation. Flew on airplanes barefoot, went shopping and dining barefoot. Of course this was an island vacation, but still, it was great to go barefoot for that long.
