Congress was unable to cram the whole amnesty down our throats in one piece, so they broke it up in smaller bite size pieces, thinking they could spoon feed it to us and we wouldn't realize what they were doing till it was too late. They started with the Dream Act hoping that once again using the children that are here illegally would soften our resolve. This is just the nose under the tent, if the dream act is granted those granted amnesty will be demanding the same for their families and friends

The Dream act is a law which would grant those who grew up and participated in and graduated from American schools for a certain period of time legal US citizenship upon graduating highschool.

More appropriately deemed "The Scream Act" (since the more those despising our laws SCREAM, the more ridiculous some of our politicians ACT) it's yet another entitlement package costing billions - potentially hundreds of billions - designed to gain favor with people who never remember favors. But then, politicians never learn.

While it does nothing to speed up the process of LEGAL immigration for those who've followed the law, it swings open the gate for ONE sub-group of ILLEGALS - those who speak spanish and sympathize with all who deserted their own countries just when they could have done the most good.

Sadly, even a cautious amnesty of ANY sort would do practically NOTHING to help poor nations. See this:

It's a pipe dream thinly covering an ugly amnesty core. Will never pass.

Backdoor amnesty for Illegals. Durbin has tried to tie it to the Defense Authorization bill. Will it pass? hopefully not.

Should be voted on this week, call your senators and congressmen. . .it has not yet been attached to the DOD bill. Hopefully they bring the debate back shortly.

Support the DREAM Act!
