Actually, if you want a real ghost experience, I'd recommend The Myrtles. It's not in New Orleans (or downtown Louisiana either:-), but is only about an hour drive north of Baton Rouge in the town of St. Francisville. It is alleged to be one of the most haunted houses in America, and more than one guest has fled the premises before daylight.

Actually, there are some hotel guests who are seeking haunted rooms in anticipation of encountering a spirit form. Check with one of the local travel agencies for advice.

Andrew Jackson Hotel New Orleans

I stayed at the Andrew Jackson hotel in New Orleans and it's haunted, but not in a good way. I stayed in the back cottage of the court yard (the one on the 2nd floor). I didn't see any ghostly images, but the minute the step foot into the room you can feel the bad energy. I get dizzy and when in the bathroom it feels like the walls are moving. It was not a good experience.

I don't know about the haunting at the Le Pavillon hotel, but there are several hotels in New Orleans that are haunted. One is the Provincial Hotel on Chartres Street in the French Quarter. All the haunted hotels I list are in the Quarter. www.hotelprovincial.com; another is the Andrew Jackson Hotel at 919 Royal St., www.frenchquarterinns.com; and there is also the Dauphine Orleans at 415 Dauphine St., www.dauphineorleans.com. I don't think any of them can guarantee a haunted room; just pick one and take your chances. One more is the Bourbon Orleans, located on Orleans Ave. behind St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. It is said to have a haunted ballroom. Some guests have had ghostly encounters at these hotels. OH, I just remembered. The Provincial Hotel at 1024 Chartres Street has an additional building with a few rooms numbered 500 and above. This part of the hotel used to be a hospital where wounded and dying Confederate soldiers were treated, and their ghosts have been reported to haunt the area. But I wouldn't mention the ghosts when you make the reservations; haunted rooms is NOT a selling point at ANY New Orleans hotel.

def take the ride out to st francisville it is a very cute a historical town. You dont have to sleep at the myrtles you can just take a tour, but you are welcome to get a room it is a bed and breakfast. We took the tour and we actually saw ghosts on top of the roof. Also when we took a group picture one of the girls screamed and ducked her head and we heard a loud thump she said she actually saw a little girl throw a shoe at her but there was no little girl and there was no shoe. weird huh!

If you can take the short drive to The Myrtles. I would def. do it. I've been and enjoyed very much. My aunt & uncle use to live in St. Francisville & they have a couple pics where they went & took pics of the house & there's a couple of pics of what looks to be a girl in one of the doors. My brother just went there in July & took pics & he has a pic of a girl figure in one of the windows.
