That's pretty much it, yeah. Guys are often taught not to cry or have emotional outbursts and to bear everything stoically. Also, big guys often learn early that they're a lot stronger than people around them and to be careful and not let their temper end up hurting people. Suppressing a temper can lead to suppressing other emotions as well.

Let me ask you this: would you think less of a man if he cried in front of you? At what point do you find it acceptable? A lot of this hiding of emotions gets reinforced by women not finding it manly. Frequently women expect us to be tough and able to deal with anything, and then are upset when we don't show emotion. Then of course there's also the buddies, who will make fun of guys that show weakness, because it gives them a better shot at being the "top dog" in that social circle.

Why do women ALWAYS freak about about tiny, pointless things?

The answer is they don't. All men and all women are not alike

All men don't always keep their emotions to themselves. I'm very expressive, for example. It's one of my girlfriend's favorite things about me.

Men not displaying emotions is a kickback from former generations where displaying emotion was a sign of weakness, and if you were, say, in WWII in Germany or something, that could be an issue.

Give it a generation or two.

But if you're still convinced that men are ALWAYS like that, maybe you should watch less television and meet different men.

And think through your questions a bit harder before making blanket statements and sweeping generalizations.

Men do not want to be seen as weak, especially in the eyes of someone they care about. Emotions are usually considered a sign of weakness, unless its anger. Its stupid, but that the way it seems to be.

They wanna be seen as hard all the time. To their friends anyway. But when we're alone he shows emotion. It's only when we're out in public he likes to act like he doesn't care. But he's the seetes dude in private. Sometimes I wish he would show his sensitive side in front of our friends. There's nothing wrong with that.

First of all, what women say they want and what they really want are not necessarily the same thing.

Secondly, not all men keep their emotions to themselves.

Women like it when you pour your heart out but they don't find it sexy. Men would rather be sexually attractive to a female than anything else.

When we grow up we are told never to cry, if we do we get beaten (by other kids usually).

Only the weak cry anyway!

When we get angry, you tell us that is bad. Its hard to only let out emotions in one direction.

We don't wanna seem weak. If we just start crying and stuff, then you girls would never leave us alone.
