Below, I have listed three sites. TWO of them direct you to the Health and Hope Clinic in Pensacola, FL. It is FREE for anyone who lives in Escambia county and has NO insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, etc. All personnel are volunteer doctors, nurses, aids and generally just GREAT people who are there to help. You DO NOT have to be Baptist. Also, The Escambia Community Clinic is NOT the Escambia County Health Dept. My 26 year old daughter went in there, saw a nurse practitioner for $68.00 and then qualified for free assistance through their program. You'll have to ask them about the application. She received excellent care, prescriptions for low cost medication and although I was told there is sometimes a long wait, the personnel we dealt with that day was great. Our reason for going there was due to the fact that it was a weekend and the other clinic was not in until Wednesday. The Health and Hope Clinic would be my first recommendation to you. Just north of 9 mile road on Chemstrand. Good luck to you and I really hope this helps. I was in your position and was blessed to find this clinic right after they opened a few years ago. Oh, they also help you get connected with the major drug companies that will supply your medication for free if you qualify. Please call them...(850)479-4456. Keep calling and they will call you back or just go there when they are open.

Yes. I have insurance also. however it only pays 80%. The doctor I see is seperate from the hospital. Seeing a nother doctor for a cheaper bill is not a option. I am high risk and he takes very good care of me. So I have to pay the doctor and the hospital. I am 4 months pregnant and I already owe the doctor 2,853. For the birth and all visits. This does not include the baby's care after having it. I owe the hospital 400$ for lab and ultrasounds. That does not include the next 5 months or the baby's care or my hospital care. I went to apply for medicaid to help with some of the costs. I have been approved so far for temporary untill the rest of my paper work comes in then it will be full medicaid. My medicaid will be paying what my insurance does not pay for. If you have to drop your insurance because you have to quit your job, you will need to tell them because that will change everything else. Instead of them spending funds on you with insurance they would need to cover the entire amount. Which would make a difference. If you are only having one income coming in then you should qualify still for medicaid you will just have to let them know that there is a change.

Call your local SHiP office, it's more or less connected with Medicaid. State Health insurance Program. They can send an agent to your home to evaluate you and assess exactly what your needs are. They WILL keep you connected with (in usual cases) a worker who will work directly with your case and keep you abreast of everything connected with your case.

Be thankful you do not live in Indiana. I made 6,980 last year. I am 59 years old, and was just told I am one of those people in the "Black hole"
The good news...they probably will not penalize me because I have no money.
I was hoping I would not be penalized for living in the United States
