..."a sense of place"?

Any ideas? I'm just trying to get some ideas...

what region do you live in; are you in a big city that has recognizable buildings? If so, you could (for instance) go inside an office building that looks across Manhattan at the empire state building, and shoot a photo of the top spire of that building.

You need to have something in the picture that tells you where you are. Like if you were in a desert area, a sign in Spanish would give a different sense of place than one in English.

there needs to be something that the viewer will immediately recognize: a building, a storefront, a street corner, a flag, part of a building, even a person (think of the British guard in front of Buckinham Palace), etc. That recognizable something (or part of something) can be in the foreground, background, anywhere in the picture....
