Mathematically speaking one shot of absolute vodka has just slightly more alcohol then one beer. A Budwieser for instance has an alcohol content of 5%. For a 12 fl. oz bottle this brings the total alcohol to .6 oz. A shot of Absolute Vodka has 40% alcohol content and with a 2 oz shot this brings or alcohol to .8 oz. So slightly more in the vodka but the general rule of thumb is that one shot of liquor, one glass of wine, and one glass of beer are all pretty equivalent in alcohol

1 shot of Absolut Vodka is equal to 8 oz of beer based on the following assumptions.If you assume that a shot is 1 ounce of vodka then it contains .4 ounces of alcohol. A beer, on the average, is 5% alcohol so then a 12 oz beer contains .6 ounces of alcohol.
