The Bible states that a wife shall submit to her husband. It says NOTHING about being shorter, or under her man. I believe the phrase submit would be better translated to RESPECT and HONOR her husband, NOT be a floor mat for him.
It also states that one shall not eat meat and dairy products together, as in a cheeseburger...If you interpret the Bible, please interpret the WHOLE Bible...Keeping in mind the burden Christ relieved us of on the cross (The old law through forgiveness...)
Most importantly it is Biblical to not judge others. And the statement you posed is judgmental of the couple you present. (It's like she wants to be over her husband...) I"m not going to get all holier than thou here but the Bible does say, rather clearly, "Judge not, sayeth the Lord."
A church is a place of worship and respect...TOWARD GOD. If a person enters wearing tattered clothing, does the church turn them away? I would hope not since they *might* be dealing with a difficult time in their life. To enter a church to worship and honor their beliefs is a Biblical right, not a privilege. The rejection by even one member of a church can turn them from God for a very long time. It happened to me over 15 years ago and I still haven't returned.
You need to form your own opinion of the individuals in question through interaction and experience with them. Not just the clothes or shoes they wear. And this goes beyond the church's walls as well. As you go through life there will be many people you will encounter that may surprise you if you let them near. There are people who are heavily tattooed yet are the most gentle people around. Some who are into piercings but are most forgiving and respectful of individuality. There are abundant stereotypes available which are nothing more than hot air. Get to know the person, not the outward appearance, and you will find enlightenment, wisdom, caring and hope beyond your wildest dreams.
When I finally do decide to return to church I will chose my house of worship with one test. I will go there wearing a pair of 5" stiletto heels, just to get the reaction from the members there. If I feel they are disrespectful, or treat me any differently than any other man who enters, I shall leave and never return for true acceptance is not present there. When I find a church that accepts me for who I am I shall join. I am a married man, father of two boys and two step-daughters, rides motorcycles, wears high heels and is forgiven.

Personally, I am with you on that one. It has nothing to do with her being taller than her husband, but with the worldly view that women should wear that type of shoe, and the "sexiness" associated with it. I think it is inappropriate for church, or anywhere else.
Not to mention the issues with the feet. Once you have to deal with Plantar Fascia, you will NEVER put on heels again. :)
God Bless.

You are kidding.
The Bible also says to JUDGE NOT.
I'd rather see a woman wearing 5 inch heels and be a foot taller than her husband than to see someone judging someone over something as nitpicky as this.

I have problems with women wearing heels at all. It's terribly bad for posture. But your problem seems to be more serious. You suffer from an acute case of superficiality. Because a woman is literally higher than her husband, she's dominating him? Faith doesn't get much shallower than that!

How very Christian of you to judge someone based on her footwear. What if her loving husband bought her a pair of Prada or Gucci heals for a gift? Would she be any less Christian to not wear the heels that were given to her out of love?

so, instead of looking at the fact that the woman is in church to serve God, you would rather judge her on her height and her choice to wear high heels?? seems to me like you need to pay more attention to the preacher and less attention to what ppl wear... as a christian, you should know that.
comments like that is the reason some ppl think christians are judgemental hypocrites..... please stop it!

I would not care if she came in wearing a burlap sack! She is in church and what should it matter what she is wearing? I thought your motive for going to church should be for worshiping God, not trying to see who is wearing what?Anyway, I like being taller then my husband, he can't give me much lip!:) Maybe you need to examine your reasons on why you would choose to be critical? Could it be some good ol' tom cat jealousy?
OK, here is a good tip......MYOB! If you mind your own business, you won't be minding mine!

High heels can be dangerous to walk in. They can be deadly weapons if you take one off and club someone with the point of the heel.

Men like women to be taller, it also make them look slimmer and more attractive. Heels are very nice too, good to hear she has a fashion sense and fun life!

My present thought; why wear shoes in a worship service to God at all? Exodus 3:5, Joshua 5:15
Is a worship service to God make the place 'holy ground'?
