just read to your child, anything will help reinforce language development. My personal favorite nighttime book is

If You Were My Baby: A wildlife lullaby.

As far as words go, the more books you read the better. It is important to read a variety of books. The more books you read, the more your child builds vocabulary and imagination. Twenty minutes per day is the recommended amount. I read a different book to my children each night. My favorite was Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss. No matter the age! You can even point at pictures and ask what things are. Hope this helps
