Dreams are not usually literal. But in this case it could be figuratively, meaning he's 'dead' to you.

It depends on how you felt when you found out that he was "dead".
If you were happy, maybe it means that you're unhappy with him and want him gone.
If you were sad, maybe it means that you don't want him to go, and that you're happy with where you are now and don't want things to change.
They have complete books on this subject, if you're really curious, I'd look it up... Go to a library and you'll most likely find lots on dreams and psychology.

A lot of dreams are strange and dont mean anything. Dont waste time thinking about it.
