I have some neighbors well I am assuming they are my neigbors I am not exactly sure who it is but they keep making false claims about me. First they called animal control and said I was mistreating my dogs well animal control came out when I was not home and my roomate showed them they dogs which they said were fine. So then a few months went by and they called the county and told them there was a bad smell coming from the house so I called the county and told them it was a false report they came out and not only did they check the yard but every room in the house! So I asked her while she was there what I can do to prevent this and she said well there is really nothing you can do if there is a report filed they have to come and check it out. But I feel like my privacy and everything else has been so violated...please help!

See if you can get copies of the reports for each of these visits. Hopefully they will give you an idea of who made the complaints. The may also show that the complaints were groundless.

Since the complaints are groundless -just continue to cooperate with the police or whom ever is coming out. The more cooperative you are - the more crazy your neighbor looks. If you get pig headed to the police (animal control) you look like you have something to hide and give your crazy neighbor credibility.

Just continue to document what is going on and get copies of the reports. Once you can establish a pattern, you may be able to sue your neighbor in small claims court.

The department will probably not release the caller information to you, but you should be able to make an appointment with a supervisor and discuss this.

Most departments use a computer aided dispatch, and they can flag the computer to advise this person has made false complaints in the past.

You may have a local ordinance about fradulent complaints, the supervisor can advise you of this. If the calls continue, and are not substantiated, this person may be cited.

Ask for copies of the reports and find out who made them. Get a lawyer if necessary. One of your neighbors hates you and hates your dogs.

PS-Don't allow people to search your house without a warrant.

If you don't let them in they will need a search warrant to enter unless they have probable cause... which the prankster tipster may be considered. Eventually you can bring this to court but most likely the pranksters will tire of this

Well technically they can't come into your home without your permission, but if you don't let them they'll just get a search warrant so really there is nothing you can do about it.
