Do you have a zoo near by? That would be a really fun place for everyone, and usually they will have a little picnick area where you all could sit down and have some cake!

For a first birthday party, keep it short & simple. I’ve seen elaborate parties with clowns, piñatas, lots of games, etc. The truth is that the guest of honor will be intrigued by the attention, like getting a fat piece of cake to themselves, and possibly enjoy ripping into a present or two. Anything more is just overwhelming. I think even at age two or three, places like Chuck E. Cheese are just too much, and aren’t as special for the guest of honor.
Normally, I’d just say a simple party at home. Since space is an issue, I would consider a private room at a restaurant, the park, or a friend’s backyard. Unless you have a lot of other kids, any kind of kid place is going to be really boring for the childless adults.
Depending on where in New Jersey you live, there are some websites that might help.

Maybe your apartment could work. You don't want to have too big of a party for the first birthday. Your baby could be overwhelmed by all the comotion. But if you do want to have a big one make it short so she can rest soon afterwards. Could you have it in a nearby park?

what about a local state park those are always nice and there will be plenty of room and they have the little places that you can take for a couple of hours but you have to reserve them . Maybe hire a clown or something of that nature and have a cake . That should suit your purpose well . good luck and I hope I helped.

A picnic at the park would be ideal. If you
have some extra money, you can have a clown
come and do games with the kids.
At that age, you don't have to do much.
Have fun!

Grandma's house. That is where we had ours and grandma(my husband's mom) took over and really made it wonderful. I wasn't stressed out and she had fun planning it. We had a barbecue because there were more adults

you can either have it at a friend or family members house if that is okay, or at a park.
