He always makes fun of the fact that I like Jethro tull or that I don't wear abercrombie and fitch like he does. He thinks that he's all that. I try to stand up for myself, but I never know what to say. Please help me.

Tell him you went to Dennys and ordered pigs n a blanket and they brought you a picture of him and his girl in bed. Tell him he needs to worry less about you and more about his life. Who is jethro tull anyway?

he's your brother, he loves you, even though it might not seem like it. he will come around in the long run, dont worry. just let him know that you don't care what he thinks and will dress however you want to and listen to whatever you want to. just cause he makes fun of you doesn't mean he hates you or annything. and thank god there is someone out there who doesn't wear abercrombie. good for you! abercrombie and fitch is gay, and you are better than him because you have the balls to not wear them. and guys who wear it are even gayer. so just know that you're better than him, and just ignore him when he makes comments, and eventually he will shut up.

The best way to handle that is to just ignore him. If it affects you that much, then why don't you just change the way you dress? If you can react to that question, then you can stand up for yourself. It's your life, not his, he has no say in how you dress or what kind of music you listen to. You need to realize that he's probably saying stuff because he thinks it's funny, not because he's actually trying to be mean to you. I would just ignore him because it really shouldn't matter what you wear.

Honey your brother is being a typical big brother with an attitude of he is soo cool and ure not....I had the same problem with my brother...but he will grow up and mature and he will love you to pieces.....trust me it is just a stage for him so dont worry....and when he teases you about ure appearence dont listen to him b/c u are you and thats all that matters..my brother started being nice when he got out of high school..if ure brother is far from that then just ignore him.

Your brother will continue to do this for as long as you give him what he wants... a reaction. He wants to see if he can goad you into either blend in with what he likes, or if you will fight him because you are offended.
Just tell him that you don't have any time for his childishness and then walk away.
One thing for sure... nobody will ever mistake you for him.
Make yourself unavailable.
Study at a friend's house or the library if you have to.

Let it roll off your back. Its not worth your time getting upset about it. Laugh it off. If you can learn to laugh at yourself then that will be one of the best things you could do.
