There are 12 people in my office and 10 of them are overweight, 4 of them are obese. Its not like they have a thyroid disease, they pride themselves in their large weight and think they look good. But they always have the AC on so low because they are always hot. Im freezing! They always choose the food we eat when we have pot luck or have food brought in, and I dont like to eat pizza every time.
They take jabs at me for eating healthy, running for fun, going to the gym in the morning. Not that it bothers me, I just find that part odd, maybe they are jealous?
I never make fun of them or suggest they lose weight, its there life. But how do I suggest a healthier meal or suggest a higher temperature (anything over 70 would be ideal for me) during the day? I know they will complain, its almost not worth it.

Forget it, you wont change the habits of the herd.
As long as their packing that extra lard, their going to be hotter than you. That's why the A/C is so cold and I bet in winter the heat is too low.
I had the same issue, when I worked in an office of five buffet queens. They always kept the thermostat set at arctic, they blamed it on mid-life hormone changes, etc.
Every morning they took turns bringing in a dozen donuts. I wouldn't eat them, but the whole box disappeared. On average, they were eating 2 donuts a piece every day.
It never occured to them, that it was because they were all over weight, that they felt so hot. They were on average at least 30 pounds over weight.
You may have to do what I did, bring in a light jacket or sweater, to wear at your desk. Keep eating healthy and hope they come around, but don't count on it.

Do you have 12 people in your office or 14. Or did you mean 10 are overweight and 2 are obese. To answer your question . . . .
Although they pick the food for the pot lucks, you can still bring in a healthier dish.
For the "chilly" temperature issue, you could consider a small "plug-in" heater that could be used in your office. Of course your going to have to get permission from your supervisor.
Hope that helps.

You hit home with this one. I suffer the same issue here at work and for a "safety" violation they took my heater away! I am 4'9 and weight 115 lbs. I am cold all the time. I get told all the time "get some meat on your bones" that's stoupid. But unlike many I have been on both sides of the rail road track. I once was 296lbs. and being only 4'9" you can imagine the looks and remarks I got than. I say your co-workers are very immature, jealous, and need to grow up. For reasons like this is why I do mostly everything alone!

You're not going to change them. They have to want to change, and it sounds like they'd rather sit back and be fat and happy. And being the only one who's uncomfortable, you won't be able to change the environment either (IE, get the temp. raised). So dress for the climate - keep a jacket on hand, wear sweaters or some such, according to the dress code of your office. And if they keep picking on you, just sigh and say that you'll send flowers to their funeral, as if it's already scheduled for next Thursday.
Then you have to decide if it's too much to deal with, and do you get a new job, transfer to a different office, or earn a promotion out of there.

They are more then likely jealous. It has happened to me before too. The people I work with look at me cross eyed when I turn down junk food.

LOL i love the joker1 response. and it's so TRUE!!!! fatasses are always miserable and they like making everyone else miserable too (unless they can get them to join them in a chomp fest, then they're friends you see. "misery likes company"). DON'T BE THEIR GUEST. we have enough of people like them everywhere. lol i work in a lab at the hospital and i've never seen so many FAT NURSES!!!! lol go figure. stay attractive baby. and take a jacket to work. beware, if you look too good to them they might put you on the menu. who knows how many co-workers they've inhaled before you started there.

Wear a coat (or at least a sweater) and bring your own food, something that they will not want to share.
