Creationism is an alternative theory to evolution. So what is the theory. How does it explain the observed evidence such as fossils, carbon dating etc. and how does it compare to evolution a theory which I thought was perfectly good by itself.

Creationism doesn't actually explain things like the fossil record or carbon dating. Instead, it uses general scientific skepticism and issues in the philosophy of confirmation to try to discredit evolution.

Creationism lacks predictive power, which is a necessary determinant of a scientific theory.

Evolution, however, makes predictions; for example, I could predict that the AIDS virus will evolve to be resistant to all drugs currently on the market, so we'll need to create new drugs.

It's really simple:

1. "The big invisible man did it" is the only explanation to anything that looks complicated

2. More specifically, it was OUR big invisible man who did it, according to how OUR religious book describes it (oh and by the way, we don't have a religious agenda). If evidence contradicts this, then the evidence must be wrong.

3. Words like "evolution", "theory" and "Big Bang" will be redefined on the fly on an as-needed basis.

4. And if we can find any loopholes in evolution, then we'll say our point is somehow proven by default

Fossils are not evidence of evolution. When you find a fossil all you know is that it died. You don't know if it had offspring. You certainly can't say they had different offspring.
If you have been told that fossils are dated by carbon dating you have been lied to. Fossils are dated with the geologic column (which is fiction). There are more examples in which the "geologic column" appears out of sequence than in the imaginary sequence that "scientists" have dreamed up.
How long is it going to take for people to wake up and see that you are being lied to. Evolution is the biggest lie ever spread on the earth.

Creationism is by no means a scientific theory. It's not falsifiable, it makes no predictions, has no valid evidence. It's not even a hypothesis. Of course Christians either through ignorance or dishonesty are constantly misusing the word "theory."

It is not a theory since it has not been tested and shown to explain anything.

As a scientific hypothesis, is fails, as it makes no predictions, nor does it any underlying principles. It simply says things are the way they are.

Creationism is religious dogma. It is neither a scientific theory nor an alternative to a scientific theory.

Its not an alternative theory to anything. It is the first couple of books of the bible.

It is not a theory. It is an untested hypothesis that has no VALID answers for observed evidence.

A theory implies it has evidence.

Religion is merely a hypothesis, one without evidence, or any possibility of getting evidence.

It is not a theory, and it is not an alternative. It is a mythical fantasy that attempts to explain the origin of the world and life.
