According to the US Census bureau, we have an estimated 299 million people in the USA. 44 Million do not have healthcare. So these individuals make up less than 14% of our nation. Approximately 85% of people are covered by employeer sponsored healthcare.
Why should the majority of people who have adequate or good insurance be forced to go onto a government program such as what Hillary Clinton is proposing? The government cannot run Medicare or Medicad efficiently, what makes you think Universal Healthcare will be run any better?

Question - does the 44 million include the 20 million illegal mexicans? If yes, then the number of people who don't have insurance is actually less than 7%.

The Child Health Insurance Program is for those situation where you lose your job and need health coverage. Sounds like your situation was temporary and you needed gap insurance. Not being on the public dole.

You are absolutely right! And they say we have 20 million illegals who are already a burden on our health care system. Don't you think they make up at least half of those without health care? Wouldn't that in all actuality bring it down to 7%? Would we then be paying for those illegals, and more, once the borders were thrown open? Hillary certainly won't have the taxes it would take to support security and health care, so somethings gotta give!

No one in this nation has to go without health care. Hospitals will treat indigent patients if for no other reason than to avoid being sued if they were to walk out the door and keel over. This is how most of the illegals in the us recieve their medical care and the expense is passed on to the rest of us by higher healthcare costs. All getting the government into the health care business will do is to further bolix the whole mess up.

As a civilized nation it is our duty to take care of our fellow Americans, not illegal aliens. Many of that 44 million without health care that you mentioned are illegal aliens and their American-born children. We should provide health insurance for all Americans not just because it is the morally right thing to do, but to prevent spending more money on the uninsured when they need emergency care.
Many uninsured people use emergency care at hospitals for their GP, which is much more expensive than care from a GP. It would save money by putting these people on a government supported health insurance system, as they are already getting free health care from hospitals and that raises your insurance premiums. So you are already paying for the health care for the uninsured through your higher insurance premium payments.

To some degree, you have fallen victim to the rantings of the left wing liberal loonies. You have mixed the terms "health insurance" and "health care." You also accepted statistics that are bogus.
We have 300 million people. The number of people who do not have health insurance, who want it, and who truly cannot afford to buy it, is about 8 million people. This from Roger Hedgecock, radio talk show host, San Diego.
If a person goes one day without insurance, the government counts him as uninsured for the year.
Everyone in the US has access to health care. You are incorrect in your belief about "employer sponsored health care." About 280 million people are covered by some health insurance plan; employer sponsored, individual, special group, Medicare, Medicaid. These people have insurance and access to health care.
About 10 million people can afford it but choose not to buy insurance. These people all have access to health care.
When sifting through the BS put out by the left wing liberal loonies, you have to have a huge sieve.

also, a third of the 44 million qualify for medicaid, another third are the "young and invincibles" who think they dont need insurance but do, so that leaves really;
14 million roughly or %4.7 of the population.
just scroll down to Mr. Jellos post to see why this will be a bad idea.
To Mr. Jello, there are individual policies available to you if you are so well off that you can retire at 50, why should i pay for your early retirement?

Democrats would have nothing to say if they didn't have a plan to grow some part of government and raise taxes on anyone who works for a living.
No, the government won't run healthcare any better than they run anything else. The only thing the government does well is war...and people are complaining about how thats going.

The last part of your question is the most profound. When has the United States Government ever run any type of program successfully??? Those are big question marks, and can't be answered with a straight face.
If the government gets involved in Americas health-care (medicare not with standing) it will be a disaster.
Better they fix social security rather than ruin another program!

Her promise is to give people the same coverage as congress for a fee that you can afford.
I'm 50 now, have no bills, the home is paid off. I have enough saved to life on for the rest of my life. I only work to maintain health insurance.
If she gets her bill passed, I plan to quit work. And since I will have no income, (except for interest) not even social security, I expect to get my coverage for almost nothing.
Why not kick back and rest for awhile? I could use the time to work around the house and go to the doctor more often to insure everything is fine, even get those things taken care of that I don’t want to pay for with my own money.
If the voters want to let me retire and pay for my health care, who am I to tell them that they shouldn't?

It's a DEMOCRAT scam, used for the purpose of "BUYING" votes. Every election cycle, the DUMBOCRAPIC PARTY comes up with an elaborate scam, designed to "give" part of the working stiffs' tax money to another segment of the population; usually the WELFARE LEACHES.
No one, in the U.S.A., pays for health care, today...remember that......no one is denied care.....IT'S A FEDERAL LAW.
