A police officer came through my neighborhood over the weekend and placed a parking violation notice on my car. There were other cars all weekend who had were also breaking the 2 hour parking law on our street. What should I do? Call the supervisor or let it go?

I have lived here for 6 years and this parking law has never been enforced before. Our street is the only one is our town with this type of parking limit. There are narrow alleys and you aren't allowed to park on the grass either.

By the way. Its not a ticket it was only a notice so there isn't a fine. Thanks for your advice!

If you got a ticket - suck it up and pay it. Just cause ever one else did not get caught does not mean you get out of it. Your just the unlucky one that he happened to catch doing it.

If it was just a warning - take it as that - a warning. Stop braking the law. Officer was nice giving you a warning when he could have given a ticket.

What good would that do? You broke the law. I would say that someone called to complain about your car, police came out and gave you a ticket. Nobody else called to complain about any other cars so they didn't give anyone else a ticket.

Now if you are talking about parking enforcement, that's different. But police officers generally only enforce parking violations when they are asked to take action.

Why would you bother complaining if you only got a warning?

You admit in your question that you were violating the parking code. Whether or not they choose to enforce it regularly doesn't mean it still isn't the law.

Trust me, if you call to complain and say, "But everybody else is doing it." That will not do anything at all for you.

Either way you're going to have to pay the fine on the parking ticket, but if it would make you feel better to contact a Supervisor to let them know that you feel singled out then go for it.

Someone obviously complained. It only takes one to ruin a good thing. If you complain, next time you might just get a citation.
