I have had my new glasses about 2weeks now, and have never worn glasses previously. I am still struggling to get used to them, i can wear them for a whole day now, but my eyes hurt, and i still get the occasional headache. My prescription is
Left -3.5, -0.75, 165
Right -2.25, -1.5, 120

Should i wear them all the time, like distance and computer and reading?
Please help
Thanks x

The Rx is meaningless, because everyone is different (yes, you can gauge a measure of "strength" from those values, but what's "strong" to you may be "weak" to someone else).

You did not give a +/- "Add" number, so, presumably, your lenses are for a single lens, as opposed to bifocals or trifocals.

Regardless, your eye doctor (i.e., optometrist or opthalmologist (refer to the link, below) should have told you or your parents how often and when to wear the glasses. Nobody else can help you in that regard.

Tell your parents or contact the eye doctor, immediately, if your headaches become unbearable, or if you don't get used to the lenses within a short time.

Since you have never worn glasses before, it will take some time getting used to them. The headache is normal as long as it is normal. Only wear your glasses for when you are supposed to wear them. If need them for reading but you are wearing them for distance, you can destroy your eyes. Give it some more time, but if you keep getting headaches that get worst, you may need to have your prescription adjusted.

If that's your first prescription it's going to take some getting used to!

I'd have been tempted to take someone up to that in two goes, deliberately giving the prescription 1.00D short and updating after a month or so, but that would have had cost implications.

I'm assuming your vision is vastly better with them on!
No, you don't *have* to wear them all the time, and I've known people who were happier walking around with foggy diatance vision, but most people with that Rx would be wearing them pretty much constantly.

The optomotrist should have told you how often you need to wear your glasses.

I've worn glasses for a while but when I get my perscription updated there is a period of having to get used to it. The headaches and other "weirdness" should pass. If it doesn't then you should go back to the doctor.
