Hello all! I pray that you are all doing well this afternoon! As the old adage goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Life has surely given me a lemon over the past few days! Life always changes, but God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. How awesome is that?
As I was reading today, God truly used His Word to encourage me.
Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So DON'T WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW, FOR TOMORROW WILL BRING IT'S OWN WORRIES. TODAY'S TROUBLE IS ENOUGH FOR TODAY. Matthew 6:32-34
Isn't it amazing how much practical and common wisdom is in the bible?
We are God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10
You are a masterpiece. Gods piece de' resistance. I don't think I spelled it right, but you know what I mean. How awesome!
Continue in your faith, established and firm. Colossians 1:23

We all need encouragment and a reminder sometimes. Have you ever heard anyone say, Keep the faith? Well, that's what God's Word tells us--"Keep the faith!"
There are no words to describe how Awesome God is and His Works and His World!

I hope that you have been encouraged today. Not by me, but by God. I love you all, Cat

Well...as for those that say "where's the question", I'll go ahead and point it out...

Isn't it amazing how much practical and common wisdom is in the Bible?'

Congratz to Jonjon...he was the only non-believer to address the question. (perhaps the others only saw the words of praise and ust jumped right to the answer bar, dead set ready to slam the question - don't know how they could miss the question...it's right there with the "?" mark in it)

As for the question, I'm going to agree....a whole lot of wisdom in it. A whole lot more wisdom than what I see being pushed on Oprah or Jerry Springer. A whole lot more wisdom indeed!

A little vitriolic aren't you, Phoenix? How dare you spout your drivel and complain when someone shares their joy. I have read too much bad mouthing on this board. Why is it OK for you to denigrate someone's faith when you have none of your own? Or do you just live to ridicule believers? We have every right to express our beliefs through the guarantee of the Constitution. Keep your crudeness to yourself!

Those are all some of my favorite verses! Isn't it cool when you are having problems, you can ask God, open your Bible, and there is the answer! He never ceases to amaze me. Praise the Lord always. And blessings to you.

"Christianity...[has become] the most perverted system that ever shone on man....Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus." --- Thomas Jefferson

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ is the greatest fiction of human history.” (Lord Bishop of Canterbury Commission, the Spiritual Head of England, 1910.)

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the blood sacrifice of the lamb of God, atonement are not the teachings of Jesus. These are all inventions of Saint Paul who never really met Jesus.” (Hastings Rashdall, The Theory of Good and Evil)

"Initially there were 34 gospels that were compiled by word of mouth. Four were chosen for unclear reasons and 30 were left behind [burned]. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

“There is strong reason to believe that St. Paul fabricated the belief system of Christianity from Zoroastrian mythology. In order to hide Paul’s plaigerism… Christians burned the library of Alexandria in 390 A.D. Books in that library kept Mithra’s original story of what Pauline Doctrine is an almost exact copy. (George Sarton , Introduction to History of Sciences) ,

Although Nontrinitarian beliefs continued to multiply, and among some people (such as the Lombards in the West) it was dominant for hundreds of years afterward, the Trinitarians gained the immense power of the Roman Empire. Nontrinitarians typically argue that the primitive beliefs of the Christianity were systematically suppressed (often to the point of death), and that the historical record, perhaps also including the Scriptures of the New Testament, was altered as a consequence.

I think this is very poor advice. Sorry but looking farther than one day into the future is a very good idea and maybe a way to avoid tomorrows trouble altogether.

Please do not forget the context of those wise words. Jesus was addressing people who were obsessed with clothing, good food and the finer things of life. "Not worrying" is personal. It does not absolve us from speaking out and acting on behalf of the poor and powerless.
