Well, the United States is the most powerful country in the world, and supposedly the richest.
They haven't managed to destroy it YET!.
It's the Land of Opportunity. Even those who don't like the country want to come here because they think it's easy to make lots of money. Of course, any money they make here is going to be much more than they made at home.
But don't fool yourself.. many countries have the same problem with immigration. Take Spain or the UK for example.
I know Holland has a big problem and, considering its small size, it's even worse. They make it tougher for foreigners to immigrate, but they still get lots of them.
All the so called "developed" countries have the same problem. The difference is, the USA is a much larger country so if you count the immigrants there will always be more here.
But maybe if you look at the percentages the difference won't be that big.

Most smaller modern countries do not readily welcome everyone into their culture. Europeans typically shun those they do not care to have move "next door". They simply have a subtle way of letting you know you aren't welcome.
Many of the people coming to America would not be well received in other modern countries and would find that very difficult to adjust to.
America simply has an established (highly flawed) system in place to accept immigrants who wish to relocate here. America is also the country with the most "recent" immigrant influx and is therefore the most accommodating.

Canada, especially Toronto, is overrun by immigrants. In fact, Canada, is known for multiculturalism. I live in downtown Toronto, which is now overrun with immigrants from all over. Now, its the Asian and Muslim immigration flow which is huge, not so much the European anymore. I know the U.S is a target for immigration, but trust me... Canada, especially its major cities like Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are just as big.
In fact, these immigrants are now a majority in the heavily populated urban areas. Canada's immigration laws are way too lax.

I would think is because USA is closer for all Latinos, most of them want a better life but they can;t afford to fly to Europe; some of them could have the intention to immigrate to Canada but they get stuck with the "LATINIZATION" of USA and they decide to hangout with people that belong to their hometowns and make their own latino communities in the USA, plus I don't care what part of Canada you are talking about Canada but Canada is very cold (I lived there for a year) and most Latin people don't or can't handle that much cold for a long period of time.

We have the easiest laws to get around. Quite a few are here to destroy us. We take in more legal immigrants than the rest of the world combined.
I think most of the first world countries are being invaded by third world countries.

Because we tend to be more generous than most of the other countries, and because we are often too kind to put our feet down and say "enough". Although, I think we're getting to that point (on the illegal alien issue)...

America has a history of immigration. Unless you are a purebred Native American, you immigrated within the last 400 years. Even they immigrated, but around 10,000 years ago.

Quite simply, we are not called the land of opportunity for nothing. If one is willing to work hard anyone can become very successful here. Peace

With rare exceptions, why would anyone want to go to another country?
There they would be confronted with a classist society, limits on free enterprise, and lack of opportunity.
