I let my daughter shave at 9 or 10 I can't exactly remember, but what I do remember is the reason I let her. I remember when I was young my mom said I had to wait until 7th grade, I was made fun of long before that because I had hairy legs. I didn't want my daughter to go through the same embarrassment that I went through.

Depends what time puberty hits. I started 'developing' at an early age, and I started shaving (because I was DYING to get that hair off my legs) when I was maybe 9-ish? Whenever your daughter feels that she wants to start with the pain of shaving, get her Nair, which is a cream that you put on your legs and then wash off. Or use a razorless 'razor' (not sure what they are called). It's better then getting your legs all cut up. But if she does want to start using a razor, show her how to so she doesn't cut herself.
Hope I helped =]

How old is your daughter? If she is like 9 then that is a bit young to care about appearance. I started shaving in middle school and that is when most of my friends started as well, best piece of advice I can give is to tell her to not shave above the knee! I know it sounds weird but I am 26 now and only have to shave my thighs 1 a month because the hair does not grow there, I had friends who started shaving and shaved their thighs and have to shave them every other day! Good luck

My daughter is not old enough to shave yet (only 7) but I started when I was 10 or 11. I had hairy legs but my mom got me an electric shaver cause she did not want me using a razor and I will prolly do the same thing for my daughter when she is old enough.

I was about 12. If she needs to shave her armpits she probably needs to do her legs too. Don't put an age limit on shaving, you will just make her self concious in the locker room at school. If she is just doing it trying to act grown up, it will pass and she will start again when she needs to.

I think my daughter started shaving her legs at 9 or 10. I remember it was when she went into 5th grade because that is the year that she had to start changing clothes for gym class. As long as she is ready, let her.

When I asked if I could shave my legs at 9 or 10 years old, my mom allowed me to. I think it all depends on where the child is at in life. I obviously was ready to since I noticed enough to ask. I don't see why your daughter shouldn't be allowed to.

My oldest daughter started when she was 13, unfortunately my youngest daughter started way earlier, age 11,it was one of those "shadowing the bigger sister kind of things" and at the time they live at their father's residence some 300 miles away. I think 13 is a fair age,it's a time in a girls life when she starts to portray womanhood.

When ever she feels ready. I guess when she starts noticing how she looks and her appearance and how everyone else looks too. I didn't start till I was like 13 or 14. Cause when your younger you really don't care much about appearance. Ya know your mom picks out your clothes and has to tell you to brush your teeth. Then you get older and want to be a little more independent.

At age 11 , my youngest picked up one of her older sisters razors and shaved without telling anyone.
She needed to see a doctor and go on antibiotics since she took hunks of skin off in her attempt to shave.
We all mature at different times based on family history and ethnicity. If your daughter is ready, make sure to "teach her ", so she doesn't end up with gashes on her skin.
Good luck.
